Born in 1987 in Asahikawa City, Hokkaido. He started snowboarding at age of 6 and turned professional at 16. He joined the national team at 23 and competed on the World Cup circuit from 2012, winning several titles. From 2015 up to present, he is active in film production, traveling around the globe with a focus on backcountry. He has reopened KONA SURF, in Autumn 2025.
